Are you celebrating Halloween this weekend or next? With it falling midweek, it’s a great excuse to celebrate double and go all out on both weekends. From decorations to costumes, home-made yummy treats and a few of the weird and wonderful pieces, Halloween is well and truly a major whimsical event in our calendar and we cannot wait to get started!

 

Get in the spooky mood with some ghostly decorations to frighten your neighbours or even your housemates/family! Emma Dazzle blogspot has some fantastic ideas that don’t cost the earth and you can make them yourself – perfect if you want to entertain the kids with some arts and crafts for a few hours. We love the autumnal colours and leaf décor – give it a go here.

 

The saying is ‘trick or treat’ but who’d choose a trick when the treats are this tasty? We spotted on Brown Eyed Baker’s blog 15 fabulous recipes for some Halloween treats.  The only problem is, they’re too yummy to give away! But this is the smart thing, these recipes are for all your left over chocolates and sweets. Left over?!? I’m not sure we’re really on the same page here. For us, it’s the dressing up that’s the real coup. It’s the one time of year you can really go for it and you know someone else will try even harder to look even scarier or sillier. If you’re still struggling for costume ideas, head to Catwalk Ready blogspot for some traditional inspiration from witches, pumpkins and zombies to all your favourite ghoulish attire. Best part? The make-up tutorials at the end which have inspired us to really go for it this weekend – photos to come!
