Update from the blogosphere #70 – Body beautiful

All this week we’ve been gearing up to get our bods buff for the warmer weather (we can hope!) and so we have been trawling through all things beauty to help kick start us on the way to smooth, hydrated skin for spring. So check out our round-up of some of the blogs we’ve read this week on the lotions and potions that work.

The big news is beauty this week is Lily Cole has launched a collection with The Body Shop. The striking model has put her print of glittery bright pink on each product and the collection is eye-catching to say the least. Get Gawjus blogspot has some fab images of the collection so check them out here. As with all The Body Shop products, they’re cruelty-free and this limited edition it totally glam. We can’t wait to try the ‘Lip & Cheek Dome’ – sounds fascinating!

Moving down the body, and onto something truly luxury, Disney Roller Girl tried out Space NK‘s new Beautannia Brighton bath oil. Describing the sumptuous oil as fresh and perky with a touch of masculinity, it seems like the perfect bath oil to share with the other half. No pink glitter here! And with the blend of sea moss, orris and grapefruit, the scent is strong and  earthy, the perfect thing for Spring.

Speaking of oil, Little Miss Rouge trialled L’Occitane’s version, the Almond Shower Oil. As with any oils, they are far more moisturising than normal body baths and washes but Little Miss Rouge describes this as ‘blooming amazing’. After using it on her legs she raves about how soft they are post shave. It’s definitely something we want to try as shaving often leaves skin really dehydrated. As with  Space NK‘s Beautannia Brighton bath oil, the scent is described as amazing, but this oil turns into a soapy lather and milky foam once in water. A bold statement from Little Miss Rouge (‘Its one of the nicest shower products I have used in a long time’) has left us wanting to rush out and buy it now!

But if oils aren’t your thing in the bath/shower, and the price tags on both of these items leaves you a little resentful of cleaning, then don’t fret! Cleaning is a must so over on the blog of Penny Golightly, they’ve picked a guilt-free treat that’s high on quality, and low on price. Waitrose’s Essential collection has a fabulous  Cinnamon Cakes body wash that’s creamy, luxurious and aromatic in a warm, spicy way. It’s the Penny Choose treat of the week.

Don’t forget we have tonnes of beauty products onsite that will keep you looking your best.

Have a great May Bank Holiday weekend!
