Update from the blogosphere #63 – Fashionable Nail Art
Decorative nails have never been so in vogue and are set to get even bigger as the year continues. Brit designers Vivienne Westwood and Henry Holland sent a flurry of models down the runway with some fabulous designs recently and it seems the blogosphere is on top of the trend and ready to show off their patterns. Find out here some of the latest crazes and if, like us, youâre a bit of a nail art novice, donât fret as weâve found some step by step guides to help you out.

Here at BrandAlley HQ we love a bit of Models Own and their new range of nail art pens make nail art easy peasy. Sarah Harrop, Models Ownâs manicurist says âIf you donât have a nail art pen or a steady hand, use masking tape to give the oval shapeâ. Use the pens to draw a pattern on bare nails or over polish.  Check out Beauty Geekâs blog to find out the lovely colours they have launched recently, plus the 3 new nail polishes theyâve added to the Beetlejuice range too! #nailartheaven

If youâre a beginner at all this fancy nail art biz then check out Cherry Humbugâs blog giving you a step by step tutorial. Katie carefully details every part so that you end up with something like this. We think it looks fab and seems easy enough. Just make sure you have plenty of time to leave the polish to dry.

Charlie from Lady of the lane has tried out So Easy products and we have to say they look fab! Sheâs given it a good go and with a bit of practice we think the stripe version could look really good. Plus anything with a bit of bling, we love. So these rhinestone versions get the thumbs up from us. If you want to find out where you can get your hands on the tools Charlie used, head to the blog here.

Kamen from Kaka Beauty blog is on trend with her pastel nails. But thatâs not enough to be ahead in the fashion stakes! She created the Half Moon mani look which weâve been seeing a lot of recently and think it looks great. As a contrast against the nude pastel colour, Kamen used a jet black on the ring finger and it really stands out â looking for a bit of jewellery on that digit? Itâs sure to get some attention.
Nail art has never been so fun and adventurous so itâs time to get creative. From wraps to two tone manicures, pastel shades with neon flashes to bold prints and graphic designs as well as âblingingâ rhinestones there is so much to try and so many fingers to try it on. If youâve had a fab mani let us know. The more inspiration, the better our nails will look. Itâs time to let your fingers do the talking.
Have a go and enjoy your weekend!
