Well hello Friday! Thanks for coming around so quickly and bringing us another installment of the brilliant blog round up!
It seems so long ago that it was London Fashion Week, but not to worry, once one fashion week is done another is starting, and if you’ve missed it, Milan has only just finished. (Bring on Paris!) Luckily for you, we’ve got some snaps to share with you!

The lovely Clothes Whisperer fell in love with some of Andrew Miller’s photos of the make up at Moschino’s show and we cannot deny we love them too. Thanks CW! We adore this cat eye look, we can see Angelina on the red carpet wearing it!

Speaking of gorgeous ladies that we love, have you met Morven? She’s got a fabulous blog, Cats and Rocking Chairs and some even more fab outfit looks! (Not to mention the jewellery!)
She’s had a go at taking a mini trend, scalloped hems, and turned her hand to a spot of DIY with an old pair of jeans. (We’ll be trying this at home kids!)

Speaking of tiny shorts makes us want …

And so, London Fashion Week swung round again last week. The February shows always seem to arrive ahead of schedule, as it’s only been four months since the end of the last set, plus we had Christmas in-between, so once again, somewhat shocked, I realised I hadn’t planned any of my fashion week outfits by the time of the first show on Friday morning.
That first show was Maria Grachvogel. It wasn’t ground-breaking (neither was my outfit), but Grachvogel has such a unique way of cutting silk that there really wasn’t a need to change her signature look drastically. A beautiful show, littered with flowing tops and dresses that on the hanger look impossible, but once on the body are a work of art.

Saturday was my busiest day. It was also raining, which made my choice of super-long maroon flares a little problematic as the water began to seep up just one of my legs (I have one leg longer than the other, apparently). Not a good look. Stand out shows were DAKS with its distinctly sixties styling, and House of Holland, which isn’t usually to my taste …

LFW proved very exciting for the beauty scene. Say goodbye last year’s staid nudes and berry lips and say hello to a colourful Walt Disney revolution. Models teetered down the Topshop Unique catwalk with Minnie Mouse style hair (buns either side of their parting to resemble ears).
The actual collection was inspired by 101 Dalmations, hence statement bleached out brows teamed with ‘worn in’ messy smoky eyes and a little triangular painted on nose to inject fun into catwalk procedures. While we won’t be championing this comedy trend any time soon it just goes to show beauty is taking a whimsical turn for 2011 (well I might).
On the nail side of things Sophy Robson, nail guru featured cutesy Dalmation print nails using a base of white Topshop paint adorned with black splodges. Wraps became big business last year thanks to the likes of Katy Perry and this time we look forward to a quirky nail twist with funky prints. One model chaperone at Christopher Kane even had all her models printed onto her nail wraps – hilare!

House of Holland featured Tiger print French tips, and Vivienne Westwood went …

Thank goodness it’s Friday, because it’s time for our blog round up! It’s the perfect end to a manic London Fashion Week filled seven days! (it goes very well with a cup of tea and a digestive!)
With the commencement of LFW, what better way to close than focusing on the weeks happening – yes we thought it was a good idea too.
We are super jealous of the lovely Sandra from 5 inch and up! She was lucky enough to go backstage at John Rocha and see previews of Temperley, and photograph all the models and generally all the things that you don’t usually get to see! Not to worry, she’s posted all of her LFW coverage on her blog.

Sandra wasn’t the only one to get in on the action, Reena Rai of Fashion Daydreams also made the most of the fashion on parade and made it to Ashley Isham’s and Bernard Chandran’s shows, (we loved the eye-popping colours).

For a further overview of the past fashion filled week, Disney Roller Girl is the go-to fashionista for highlights from each day from Topman menswear and …

As you’ll know, London Fashion Week has just come to an end, and fashionista’s around the country were donning their best to make an appearance at Somerset House. Inside BrandAlley HQ we were getting into the spirit of things, so I was asked to keep a style diary of what I wore during the week, I hope you enjoy this little peek into my wardrobe habits! x

Till next time!…
