Remember when everyone was wearing foam ballet buns in their hair giving them a perfect, pretty, girly coif? Well slick ballet buns are yesterday’s news and now the top knot reigns supreme. Making their way from the catwalk and being copied by celebs, top knots are versatile, edgy and our favourite look of the moment. Hair trends come and go, but we hope this one never leaves as it’s perfect for your inner-slacker and has become a staple hair-do that we can’t live without.


We love the different versions of the top knot seen at Jenni Kayne, Phillip Lim, Louis Vuitton and Mary Katrantzou’s  catwalk shows. Jenni sent models down the runway with her version of the trend, an edgy, almost rocky look that set off the feminine floaty designs from her SS/AW12 collection.
