Blush Vs. Bronze – what cheek trend to take

We always want what we can’t have, so as a perpetually pale skinned one, I never leave the house without bronzer to give myself a golden brown look. But looking through the make-up bags of the girls in the office today, I was shocked that there was a very clear divide between whether you’re a blusher or bronzer gal. It seems you’re either one or the other so I set out to look for the pros and cons of both.

Spring isn’t spring without a pink cheek and at the SS12 catwalks designers and make-up artists created girly, natural looking cheeks with blusher. At Tracy Reese a dash of blush was swept high on the cheekbones creating a soft flush. This season 1920’s trend was embraced at Ralph Lauren with make-up artist Tom Pecheux brushing rose-petal blush over the apples of the cheeks and adding a dusting of pink. The look was natural, feminine and very much the English Rose.
