David Baileyâ€™s East End
Talking of icons, David Bailey – one of the East Endâ€™s most famous sons and reputedly, the best photographer of his generation – has a brilliant new exhibition of his pictures at Londonâ€™s Royal Docks. Over the past 50 years, heâ€™s regularly returned to photograph the stomping grounds of his youth. With the Olympics approaching and the worldâ€™s focus on east London, these fascinating photos from his personal collection document the changing streetscapes, characters and scenes of east London life from the early 1960s to the present day.
