Update from the blogosphere #87 – Skinny Minnie
It was a week of fashion this week with Lanvin launching their new AW campaign with an 80+ year old model, Barneyâs department store in America using Minnie Mouse in their new campaign and Rosie Huntington-Whitely launching her new underwear range in M&S. With all the bloggers out there covering all angles, weâre here to give you a round-up of the events that have occurred.
Itâs great to see designers using ârealâ men and women in their campaigns and none more so than Lanvin who have used 81 year old model, Jacquie Murdock. Clothes Whisperer blogged about Lanvinâs behind the scenes video of the campaign and finally the fashion world is taking note that we all want to wear the clothes not just skinny model-esque youngâuns. Kudos to Dove, Lanvin and every other brand for embracing the entire community. Take a peak over at Clothes Whispererâs blog for their take on the new campaign.
Catering for everyone was not on Barneyâs radar when they were thinking of inspiration for the holiday, or maybe it was; who doesnât love a Disney character?! We spotted over on Itâs not you itâs me site blogspot that Barneyâs is using Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Cruella and lots more â and their all wearing high-end designer gear. Only problem is, Minnieâs body isnât the archetype body shape for designer clothingâŚ.so they made her 5â11â! In our eyes, thatâs sacrilege and literally turning her into a skinny mini! But it does make for a funny advert â just take a look. If you want to find out what the Creative Director of Barneyâs had to say, head over to Itâs not you itâs me site blogspot for the full interview.
You couldnât have missed the sensational Rosie Huntingon-Whitely and her gorgeous vintage inspired lingerie launch. The collection for Autograph at Marks & Spencer finally launched this week and of course, ex Victoriaâs Secret Angel modelled the range. Ella from Cocoâs tea party blog was very lucky to attend and has tonnes of pics from the event â head here to see more. Surprisingly, Ella says the model/actress looked nervous and shy, but after taking a look at the collection we canât understand why. Adding even more credentials to her CV, this girl is a force of nature!
We love reading blogs so if you have one that you think we’ll love, leave us a comment and we’ll be sure to add it to our reading list.
Have a great weekend!
