Update from the blogosphere #86 – festival fashion

The time has come, and we’re ready to celebrate in style. It’s the last Bank Holiday of the year and we’re going to make it a goodun’! With tonnes of festivals on this final Bank Holiday, festival fashion and tips are all over the blogosphere which is perfect for us here at BrandAlley HQ as we love a good trend, and festival fashion is one of those trends that comes about every year, funnily enough, when the festivals are on!

The pioneer of looking chic at festivals, Kate Moss, made every girl want to show off their wellies in super cute shorts in a stylish and comfortable ensemble. This has inspired festival dressing to improve year on year and we’re loving some of the retro, trendy, and uber laid-back looks we’ve seen. Just check out some of the blogs we’ve been reading…

On Sophie Eggleton’s blog, she’s posted 3 fab looks all of which are perfect for festivals. We love the edgy chic look of the turquoise House of Holland denim dress but it’s the comic inspired dress that really caught our eye. As Sophie says, we can hardly predict the British weather so a jacket is a must. But with some outfits, a jacket/hoodie ruins it a bit. Not with this dress! The powerful print popping through encourages people to look and you to wow. No losing this dress in a crowd…plus we know our Chezza is a fan of the dress too when she stepped out this week in one similar!

If you’re heading for a festival for a few days like Sara Luxe, why not go for layers the way Sara suggests? A hat is a great investment too as it keeps unwashed hair at bay whilst also keeping the rain and sun off your face. Don’t forget fashion matters at festivals. Sara channels the metallic and opulence trend wearing a gorgeous silver top, and also hits the military trend too with her parka. She looks great and comfortable. That’s a winning festival combination.

If the weather is good this weekend, and we’re praying it is, we love this cute little outfit we saw on Frances Cassandra’s blog. The studded slipper shoes look super comfy for walking about all day, but beware anyone who tries standing on them as the spikes look fierce! Fances mentioned the finishing touch to her outfit was a floral headband and we spotted on Odd Socks and Pretty Frocks blog how to make your own. It looks so simple and the finishing touch is a great addition to your festival look. After all, festivals were born in the boho era of the 70’s and daisy chains were almost compulsory!

If you’re heading to a festival this weekend, have fun and be safe. Make sure you keep your valuables with you at all times – we like to stash them in pockets, bags, belts and even our wellies!

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend!
