Girly frills and ruffly thrills

Nothing says girly chic like ruffles. We love the feminine look and with pastel colours being a huge trend this summer, there’s something distinctly romantic about this mixed trend. Back in 2010 the runways were filled with frills and we’re thrilled the style is not killed (did we go overboard on the rhyming?!).

Ruffles and frills remind us of luxury and so are the perfect looks for dinner dates, smart occasions and even nights on the town. They make any look softer and more delicate and to those of us who like to hide a certain section, they’re the perfect distraction. Oscar de la Renta played with ruffles a lot in his SS 12 collection creating stunning combinations that were alluring without being too suggestive. Girly frills like those seen at Moschino’s spring shows were summery and sweet giving the outfits an air of innocence.

Even better, frills aren’t pigeonholed into one category. Designers worked the look on dresses, trousers, skirts, tops, accessories and even shoes. So don’t miss out on the trend and pick up some frills for summer. We’ve got some gorgeous pieces in our Guess sale today, and they’re all up to 60% off!
