Update from the blogosphere #75 – Fancy nails
Manis are getting serious updates this season and all of a sudden block colours are ‘old-skool’. We know! We couldn’t believe the simple, sophisticated red polish was a thing of the past, but this season is all about fancy nails, from two-tone, comic book slogans, and even images – anything goes. Just be sure you’ve got a steady hand to rock these intricate looks. It’s all we’re seeing on the blogosphere this week – and we’re getting some fab inspiration. Take a look at some of our favourites:

We spotted these amazing designs on Lookers blogspot and want to have a crack at all of them – they look stunning! Lots of celebs and fashionistas are working these nail styles and they’re becoming increasingly popular. As Lookers blogspot says, ‘nail art design is the must have accessory of the season’ and we totally agree.

One style we’ve noted is the fun and playful type that shows off your adventurous side. On Lucy’s Stash blogspot we saw this cute ladybird print. On all 5 fingers it would be too fussy so instead Lucy has kept the ladybird image to just one nail on each hand (known as the accent nail) with the remaining nails sporting red and black spots. Check out her blog for a step by step guide on how to create the look.

If (like us) you don’t have the most steady hand you could always pick up some nail strips/wraps. We saw on Style Junkee‘s blog that Rad Nails debuted their Hot Man-icure with the faces of 20 Hollywood hotties on nail strips. Just stick them down and you’ve got a prefect manicure that you know you’re mates will be lusting after!

But if you want something really special, what about caviar nails? We posted on Facebook earlier this week about these and got a huge response. A Girl and a Beauty blog tried the craze out and found the manicure wasn’t as fiddly as she thought. However, the 3d design means they’re not most secure nail design so will last a day or two at most before the beads start to fall off.
Now you know what’s hot in the world of nails, will you be having a go and trying out some exciting designs? Let us know how they work out for you.
Have a great weekend!
